So I was out last week checking on my booth and the cutest little book caught my eye at the antique mall. I usually hang around for an hour or two to help with customers and stroll through the store during that time. In the back of the mall there’s a booth I just love with all kinds of unique vintage hankies, plates, etc. In the booth this book stood out and I fell in love with it. It’s full of all kinds of vintage lunch ideas. The title is The Lunch Box, by Florence Brobeck.
It’s embellished on the outside with a beautiful doily and a sequence flower. It’s very charming!
I couldn’t find the year of publication in it. But I’m thinking it might be from the late 1950s or early 1960s.
Comes complete with great health advice and good eating habits.
Even comes with food presentation tips!
My favorite section includes unique recipes for deviled eggs and suggested dishes to prepare for parties.
There’s a chapter on what to bring for lunch!
They covered every angle and even provided measurement tips.
And offered holiday recipes as well!
Do you have a favorite vintage cook book? We’d love to hear from you!
Have a great week!
